im a newb to hunting what do i need to begin hog hunting in california , currently i have no gear or anything.

first of go take a hunter saftey course than you buy a hunting license ($37) and a wild pig tag i think ($17). Then you can use either a shotgun or rifle. Rifle I think i rifle will serve you best best caliber choices range from .270 win, .308 win, and the .30-06. Your prolly gonna wanna buy a good scope like a leupold. Then go to range and practice and practice some more. Then look for smeone else to help you out and take you around and show you the ropes. The DFG has a guide on wild pig hunting online look it up and read up. That should get you started.
